Sag Harbor Garden Center

Penny is still the queen of the garden center. She just celebrated her 15th year with us. She was originally called Pigpen because as a kitten she hid under the display racks. When she did come out for love and food, she was covered in dust. Our friend, Lee E, said she was as pretty as a copper penny, and that’s when her name changed to Penny. As you can see by the drawings, our own babies (now young adults) were very excited to have her join the family. Penny loves to be pet by adults, but remains wary of children. If you sit on the garden center stairs, just know that your lap belongs to her. We cherish our feline companion and know she is important to our patrons too. #sagharbor #penny #phil #flowers #propane #hamptons @ Sag Harbor Garden Center ... See MoreSee Less

Why aren’t my hydrangeas blooming?
Phil answers: In mid January, after being very dry and mild, the temperature dropped from 50° to 7° in a week and many buds on plants dropped off.

Several customers and I have been trying to determine what a husk cherry is. It is commonly confused with tomatillos but the flavor is apparently quite different.

We are often asked which plants purify the air. We currently have the majority of these in stock. If we don’t have them right now, we can get them for you. https://t.co/r8N2jQBtUW
