Hi, I’m Linnette roe.

A true plant nerd at heart, I have been working in gardens and nurseries over the last 23 years, following a fulfilling career as a professional ballet dancer. My love for the arts segued into a deep appreciation for landscape design and horticulture.

After attending horticulture and design classes in Seattle and San Diego, and obtaining certifications in Ornamental Horticulture, Landscape Design, the CCN Pro and Integrated Pest Management, I began working in historical botanical gardens, private estates and several types of retail and wholesale nurseries. After caring for some of the finest rooftop gardens in NYC, I found myself drawn to Sag Harbor in 2019 and quickly put down roots (yes, pun intended). After 20 years spent dreaming of owning a garden center, I am so excited to be here, getting to know more of my community and continuing to share my passion.

“I like gardening. It’s a place where I find myself when I need to lose myself.” ~Alice Sebold

My Approach

My personal belief - especially out here on the East End, is that the best garden is not forced. We plant with the environment in mind, plant what works with the soil type, the amount of sun or shade available, think about the ultimate size of a tree or shrub, take pollinators into consideration. And of course, the deer….always the deer to contend with.
